The TreeBaltimore Gathering

The Summer Gathering will be held Thursday, August 27th

from 5:30-8:30pm at Cylburn Arboretum!

Registration is open!

You don't wanna miss this one! The New Official City Tree of Baltimore will be revealed! After 52 years of the reign of the Bradford pear, its finally time to rally around a native, climate resilient tree that better represents our sweet city. Get ready for a ‘hot dog’ style race (think Orioles games) of all 6 tree candidates to unveil the winner as voted by YOU. And we want you to join in the celebrations! Come dressed up as the tree species that won your vote. Bring your own flags, noisemakers, and team spirit, and let's show some joyful support for ALL our city trees.

Join us at Cylburn Arboretum for a picnic-style event near the mansion house. Walk past the Vollmer Center on your right and follow the path for about 500 feet and you'll see us on the lawn in front of the mansion. Bring your own chair, blanket and anything else to help you enjoy the fun-filled evening. As usual, TreeBaltimore will provide the food, drink and entertainment.

Parking is limited, so carpooling, public transit and biking are highly encouraged. Invite a friend, grab a costume, and RSVP to save your spot for an unforgettable evening to make tree history.

What is the Gathering?

Twice a year, TreeBaltimore hosts a gathering to celebrate the city's tree canopy. This informative networking opportunity is free and open to the public. Meet your Baltimore City advocates, planters, maintainers, researchers, and huggers of trees from boots-on-the-ground volunteers to policy and conservation professionals.

When/Where is the Gathering?

The Gatherings occur every winter and summer.

For more information, call 410-396-6109 or email TreeBaltimore@baltimorecity.gov.

How do I register?

Registration is REQUIRED so we can get an accurate headcount. The registration link will be posted on this page about 30 days prior to the next event!

How can I help?

Food and drink and composting services will be provided but please help us reduce our ecological footprint by bringing your own utensils/plates/cups. :)

What about parking?

Parking is available but limited. We encourage attendees to carpool, take public transit, or bike if possible!
