Many thanks to the Parks & People Foundation for hosting Fall 2016 Baltimore TreeKeepers Classes!
TK201 – Advanced Tree Planting for Leadership Certification reviews best planting practices and discuss the process for designing and implementing a tree planting project in your own neighborhood. You will learn how to deal with logistical concerns such as tree stumps, tree well cutting, and tree selection. Topics will also include identifying urban stresses for trees.
TK201 – Advanced Tree Planting for Leadership Certification is the third classroom requirement for TreeKeepers Certification. Certification requirements also include helping at two tree planting events held by TreeKeepers nonprofit partners.
Through a combination of classroom learning and field experiences, TreeKeepers-in-Training learn best management practices associated with tree planting and care. Once certified, TreeKeepers can receive special help from TK partners with trees in their own community.
Be a part of something greater than yourself. Our city trees will benefit from your volunteer efforts!
Join the TreeKeepers and get involved in tree planting and tree care. Together we can build a healthy forest canopy that provides a multitude of health and energy-saving benefits for everyone.
All classes and workshops are free and open to the public.
Get there by bus, bike, hike, or car! Parking is available on the street, w/limited parking on the Parks & People campus.
Take I-83 to Exit 7 Druid Hill Lake Dr. Go past the lake, cross Swann Dr and Gwynns Falls Pkwy, past the Conservatory and make a left at the 3rd traffic light – Liberty Heights Ave. Make a quick right into the campus. Classes are in the Stone House on the left.
