POSTPONED-Fruit Tree Fair
It’s an open mic, it’s a community greening resource fair, it’s a fruit tree and yard tree giveaway for City residents.
TreeBaltimore is Baltimore’s program for the coordination of all tree plantings by city agencies, non‑profit organizations, neighborhoods, and community associations. The Baltimore City Fruit Tree Partnership was formed in 2015 with Baltimore Recnparks, TreeBaltimore, Baltimore Orchard Project, andParks & People Foundation to coordinate community orchard fruit tree plantings throughout the city and to bring city residents free trees for planting in their yards.
The event includes: networking, education, free fruit trees (City residents only) and family fun. Guests can expect to receive in-depth tree care information. We can grow food as we grow community, all the while increasing the city’s tree canopy!
No registration is required, however, free native and urban hardy fruit trees will be provided on a first come- first served basis to city residents only!
All Fair happenings will be taking place in front of the beautiful Rawlings Conservatory & Botanical Gardens at 3100 Swann Drive in Druid Hill Park 12noon-3PM on April the 4th. If you are a city resident, then you may come to claim your free fruit tree, one tree per household, for planting in your front or backyard or community space. We are offering four varieties this year: three native tree/shrub species <Persimmon, PawPaw, Serviceberry> and one urban hardy species <Fig>.
